Coaching & Workshops
for Parents of Children with ADHD and Executive Function Challenges
Parenting a child with ADHD is hard. It can feel isolating and frustrating. Mornings are difficult, transitions feel impossible, meltdowns happen daily and you find yourself yelling constantly.
When you understand what's actually happening in your child’s brain, behaviors start to make more sense. I help families gain a deeper understanding of the ADHD brain, how it impacts challenging behaviors and how to better parent the child you have. We will work together to create a calmer, more connected home family dynamic along with specific strategies to tackle difficult situations.
Welcome, I’m Jaime
I started ADHD Learning Lab as a certified ADHD Parent Coach with the sole purpose to help parents who are struggling with a child with ADHD. As a parent to a 9 year old with ADHD I know exactly what it's like when expert advice doesn't work. When you're exhausted and wondering if you'll ever get this right.
After a 25 year career as a creative director where I coached teams of designers daily, I made the decision to become a parent coach. I am passionate about helping parents understand what's actually happening in their child's brain, and use the power of calm to parent with confidence instead of confusion. It is not a quick fix, but we can work together to make real, lasting change for your family.
You don't need to have it all figured out. You only need to be ready to understand your child's brain differently.
Who is coaching for?
Have you been given this advice without much success?
"Try a visual schedule!"
"Use positive reinforcement!"
"Break tasks into smaller steps!"
Without understanding why your child struggles with transitions, why delayed rewards don't motivate them or why they can't "just start" their homework—these tips become one more thing that fails.
My approach is different:
I start with the neuroscience. You learn how ADHD and executive functioning challenges actually affect your child's brain. Then—and only then—we design strategies that work with their wiring, not against it.
Because when you understand the why, the how begins to make more sens
My Approach
-
Understanding
Before we talk about any strategies we will talk about brain function. You'll gain a practical understanding of how brains with ADHD or executive functioning challenges are wired.
Why does your child melt down over homework? Why can't they "just start" tasks? Why do mornings feel impossible?
When you understand what's actually happening in their brain, everything else starts to makes sense.
The why always comes before the how.
-
Calm
Here's something most ADHD advice misses: Without calm, there is no learning.
When emotions are high nothing productive happens. So, before we implement any new strategies, we create the calm foundation where real change becomes possible.
This isn't about pretending everything is fine. It's about understanding nervous system regulation and building the emotional safety your family needs.
-
Strategies
Cookie-cutter solutions don't work because every ADHD brain is different. What works for one child might completely fail for another.
So we experiment. We adjust. We figure out together what your child's specific brain needs.
You know your child better than anyone. I’ve studied and trained to understand practical strategies that can work. Together, we co-create strategies that actually fit your family's reality—not someone else's Instagram-perfect version.
-
Adjust
We're not looking for tactics that work for a week.
I help you build systems and approaches that you can actually maintain—because what's the point of a strategy that requires you to be "on" 24/7?
Real change happens when we design approaches that work with your life, not against it. And I keep it real throughout—no sugarcoating the hard parts, but also no telling you to "just try harder." You're already trying hard enough.
What you need is a partner. That's what I'm here for
Common Questions
How is this different from therapy?
Therapy addresses mental health and processes trauma. Coaching builds skills and strategies for moving forward. Many families do both!
Will you tell me my child needs medication?
No. Medication decisions are between you and your doctor. I support you with behavioral strategies regardless of your medication choices.
Do you work with families outside Brooklyn?
Yes! While I am based in Brooklyn, I offer virtual sessions and workshops.
What if your strategies don't work for my child?
That's why we start with understanding first. I don’t just list strategies for you to try. We work together to understand how your child's brain works and then we adapt and adjust strategies until we find what fits.
